Sequoyah Tournament

On Friday, August 13th, the Blessed Trinity Varsity Volleyball Team arrived to Etowah High School to compete in the Sequoyah Tournament. They won both games on Friday, and went to go get some rest to arrive back the next morning to work hard. They won three more matches, making it to the championship game of their gym. This tournament was going on in four different gyms, and the winners of these gyms came together for the championships of the entire tournament. In the past 6 years in Blessed Trinity Volleyball, the team had NEVER made it out of their gym, but these Lady Titans were determined to make history, and they did. The girls beat Chattahoochee High School in three sets, making it to Sequoyah High School to play in the semi-finals. The played Sandy Creek High School, which is a very good team with a good volleyball program throughout the school, but these girls had heart, and they showed just how hard they could work to become champions. The Blessed Trinity Varsity Volleyball Team had made it to the finals. They played Pope High School, who is a 5AAAAA school and the defending state champions of their division. Blessed Trinity won the first game 25-20, making school history. Pope came back though, and beat them in the next two games. Blessed Trinity had lost, but they were one of the THREE teams who had taken a game from Pope. Overall this tournament was a complete success. The girls proved to Coach Stevens, Coach Murphy, and to each other, that they can, and will, become champions.
